killer_culture is a community for those interested in true crime as well as related books, movies, television shows, etc. Anything related to true crime (even fictional) is welcome here: debates, discussions concerning TV shows, movies, books (Dexter, Criminal Minds, Forensic Files, Law & Order, Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.), icons, questions, news articles, pictures, reviews, pretty much anything relevant is permitted!
We're looking for interested members, "fans" of various crime-based shows/movies/books/etc. to keep debates/discussions fresh and interesting and to get the ball rolling. We don't want to focus on just one show or just one subject or be an all icons/graphics community. We want it to be open to people from all fandoms and walks of life to discuss their likes/dislikes or ask questions (example: "how accurate would what Dexter did (by doing this) be?") or whatever your pleasure may be! If this turns into a "one-trick-pony", it's going to die fast, and we don't want that!
We're trying to stand out; since there are tons of true crime communities and tons of fandom communities. We're combining the two, in a sense!
How It Works: • Post a topic or pose a question worthy of debate/discussion. • Optional (but preferred): present your point of view on the subject. • Posts and comments must be coherent, relevant and appropriate. • Posts deemed inappropriate by the Maintainers will be deleted at their leisure.
Navigation: New: We are trying to organize as many entries as possible into categories in our list of Memories. If you are looking for a specific topic or have a question, please check the Memories to see if it's been posted and discussed already! This should help to keep things organized and easier for members to find specific entries/topics.
The Rules: By joining this community, posting or commenting on already existing entries, you have stated that you have read and agreed to these rules. Notice: Any posts not abiding these rules are subject to being deleted without warning! • Don't piss off the mods! • Try to be respectful of others. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, don't bash them for it! • Before posting a topic or posing a question, please check our list of categorized memories to see if your subject has already been posted and discussed. • Please tag your entries! Let's keep things organized! • If posting icons, please only display 3 (three) icons and put the rest behind a link or lj-cut. • Permissible topics: Keep politics and religion to a minimum. Aside from that, almost anything goes. The more interesting and/or unique, the better. Examples: Sex, crimes, psychology, current events, post pictures with an interesting subject matter and discuss/debate them. • No personal issues unless they are relevant to the community subject matter. This is not your personal journal! (Example: "my boyfriend might be a sociopath! What should I do?!??") Penalty: Post will be deleted. • Advertising and/or memes are allowed as long as they are relevant to the community and you have the consent of one of the maintainers. (See below!) If posted without approval: Penalty: Bannable Offense. • Any post in violation of LiveJournal.com's Terms of Service will be deleted immediately without warning. Penalty: Bannable Offense. • All posts must have comments enabled, and be un-screened. Penalty: Post will be deleted without warning. • Do not delete any comments if they are not your own. Penalty: Bannable Offense. • Debate/discuss properly. Example: If I state my opinion and JimBob contradicts it, I will not reply with "whatever, gtfo noob!" Insulting is not debating. Penalty: Post/comment may be deleted, warning, bannable offense if necessary. • Posts containing hate speech, or remarks encouraging harrassment of other users (as defined in LJ's ToS) will be deleted without warning. Penalty: warning and deletion if necessary. • Large posts and picture posts should be under a cut. • Any journal that violates these rules will be banned at the maintainers' discretion.
